As part of our community engagement work, STORM funded and supported Manchester Nightline to find their own  #HeyAreYouOK? voice - When Will You Ask? University life isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be and for students who may be away from home for the first time, or struggling to find friends who are like themselves, this student led campaign proved essential.

Nightline found their voice as When Will You Ask?

A team of dedicated students from the University of Manchester led the successful student campaign.  They created logos, leaflets, engaged with the relevant stakeholders at the university and organised an event for the University Mental Health Awareness week. The event was a huge success, with students discussing how emotional wellbeing is important and sharing stories.

Hannah Jewell, 3rd year student at the University of Manchester and Project Lead, commented that “Whilst organising the event had proved to be particularly stressful in the last few days before the launch, the rewards of seeing so many people there enjoying the sunshine, the music and the above all the atmosphere and the conversations that came up between acquaintances about their mental health were unmeasurable.”
